Our school has compromised our education based on a "last hired is fired" rule. This rule focuses more on heirarchy than it does our right to a good education. With this petition hopefully we will be able to keep Ms Wilson over Ms Reid instead of the decision catering to the opposite made by those it in charge.

I was looking at the board in the hallway today and it just feels so wrong that these administrative rules matter way more than the actual teaching we get in class. I have sent another round of emails to the principal and if they keep ignoring us I guess we just have to be louder about why Ms Wilson needs to stay.

Ms. Reid is my first block teacher and she in incapable of teaching her class. We are never prepared for our tests, even when given study guides, a lot of the material on the test we never even covered in class. We are constantly asking for her to teach us and explain things in class. She always says she will get to it but never does. She spends majority of the class talking and wasting time when we are supposed to be learning. Ms. Reid should not be here any longer if she cannot teach her students what we need to know. Regardless of what the rules are; I've heard nothing but great things about Mrs. Wilson and it would be a shame to see her go.
shouldn't it be decided based on which teacher's students have had higher scores? This rule should be changed because of how unfair it is. what if the teacher was hired a few days earlier than the other yet the teacher offers a better education than that other teacher but is getting fired because they were hired last? Maybe that's why our test scores are so low, because you fire all the good teachers and keep the slackers.
I haven't had Ms. Wilson's class yet but I heard she was a pretty good teacher. Although I did have Mrs. Reid, I didn't really like it. Most of the time, I would have to learn everything again at home because I wouldn't really understand the way Mrs. Reid taught. I passed the final exam with a 91, but only because I had to do extensive studying and cramming outside of school. It was very stressful and I wouldn't want others to have to go through the same thing. If Ms. Wilson is as good a teacher as people say, I hope this petition will help!
Good teachers shouldn't be fired. Mrs Wilson has done nothing wrong. Honestly being a freshman in anatomy & physiology has been hard but Mrs wilson has been understanding and helpful. She doesn't deserve this. She needs to be a teacher at Olympic. She has changed learning for the better.
I'm glad that this petition is in place. I saw Ms.Wilson crying on Friday as I left the Spring Festival and when she told me why she was crying I was infuriated. Good teachers like her should not be fired over a stupid rule that hurts the teacher and the students who lose a good teacher.

I have not personally had either teachers but I have heard only good things about Ms. Wilson. Mrs. Reid is a teacher who "helps" with the robotics team by opening the school for us. However she only does this "job" some of the time. I also heard that she once locked one of her students in her closet.

I have had both teachers and can honestly say that Mrs. Reid is a mess of a teacher and much worse than Mrs. Wilson. Mrs. Wilson is a respectable, intelligent woman who teaches well and connects with students. As Regan Duke said, Mrs. Reid has alot of issues. Which wouldn't be a problem if she worked on resolving those issues. However she sees no room for improvement in her teaching abilities and believes she is a good teacher. I am usually a quiet person and don't like to post strong opinions of mine publicly, however this is a serious issue and is a reflection of how downhill METS has gone since I came as a freshman. We are better than this, METS is better than this. Tl;dr Mrs. Reid needs to go. Mrs. Wilson shouldn't have to "take the bullet"
