“We (the parents, local residents and pupils of The Willow School on Wandsworth Road) ask Lambeth Borough Council to allow the extension of an outdoor play space for the nursery by making available for sale a portion of the land to the rear of 233 Victoria Rise. We invite the council to note that the nearest area of open space is Clapham Common, which is more than 600 metres away across a series of busy roads. We also invite the council to note that the land behind the school (identified as the garden of 233 Victoria Rise, a council-owned property) is overgrown and in disrepair. Further that this garden is 80ft long and could benefit from being split in two: one part as a play area for the nursery school children, the other as a garden for the tenants of the property. The move would improve the quality of life of more than 30 local children aged between 2 1/2 and 5 years.

The momentum behind this is incredible. We are showing the council that this space belongs to the children.

fix it up for the children instead of letting it turn into a jungle. way too much traffic on the roads to expect little ones to go all the way to the common.

Ridiculous that this land is just sitting there rotting when the kids have nowhere to run around safely. My son goes there and they really need the space.
