The Williamson County School Board has announced the proposed zoning for the new Nolensville High School. The initial proposal shows Cromwell (a new 62 home community in Brentwood) rezoned for this new school. It is the only new community in the city limits of Brentwood that would not go to a High School in the city limits of Brentwood. Cromwell would be the farthest community away from the new Nolensville High School and it is closer in distance to Ravenwood High School. Our preference is for Cromwell to remain in the Ravenwood school zone. There must be a solution that would allow Cromwell to remain in Ravenwood. The board has stated there will be many more zoning changes over the next 10 years. This could have potential impact to other Brentwood subdivisions in the future. Let's unite to keep the Brentwood subdivisions in schools within the Brentwood city limits. Please sign this petition to show your support of Cromwell remaining in Ravenwood High School.

Updates

April 16, 2014

I have requested a formal meeting with the school board members to discuss the specific logistical concerns regarding the distance to Nolensville High School. My next priority is drafting a formal brief that details how this zoning change departs from the established patterns for Brentwood subdivisions.

The volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the district planning committee to discuss the Cromwell zoning map. I am currently drafting a letter outlining the specific inconsistencies in current transit policy for the board members to review next week.

Living in Brentwood means we should be in a Brentwood school. The commute to Nolensville is going to be a nightmare for these kids.

Makes zero sense to drive past one high school to go to another one way further away. Please rethink this map.

My property taxes are through the roof for this school district. Why are they sending us all the way to Nolensville when Ravenwood is right there??

SO FRUSTRATING. We chose this neighborhood specifically for the school zone. Fix this.

Instead of zoning Cromwell for the new Nolensville High School, the following 3 options have been suggested to the Williamson County School Board: 1. Zone Cromwell for Ravenwood and use the same high school bus that services Brookfield (#11-139). THIS BUS TRAVELS ALONG SPLIT LOG RD AND PASSES RIGHT BY CROMWELL. 2. Zone Cromwell for Ravenwood and use the same high school bus that services Tuscany Hills/Sonoma (#13-175). CROMWELL SITS JUST 528 YARDS PAST TUSCANY HILLS. 3. Allow Ravenwood open zoning for Cromwell for a minimum of 5 years to allow time for the county to develop out toward Cromwell.
