FISD has proposed elementary school rezoning that would result in taking only a couple streets of Willow Bay North and moving approximately 129 kids from Mooneyham to the new Norris elementary school. Norris is not a neighborhood school to Willow Bay North and it will pull away students that have been in attendance at Mooneyham for up to 5 years already. The rezoning will cause students who live on the same street to go to different schools; it will take away opportunities that students have today at Mooneyham such as Jump Rope club as well as break up families that intentionally purchased in Willow Bay North to raise their kids together. Not only is the proposed zoning line disruptive and random, but families not affected for 2015-16, are likely to be impacted in 2016-17. This petition is to ask FISD to keep Willow Bay North whole at Mooneyham through temporary solutions such as portable buildings for the 2015-16 school year and for a long term solution of purchasing land at the intersection of Coit and Eldorado where there can be a neighborhood school for the Willow Bay neighborhood in its entirety.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

this rezoning is so random. my neighbors kids go to mooneyham but mine would be sent to norris? makes no sense at all.
The school board needs to listen to us. we moved here specifically for this school district and dont want to be split up like this.
THEY NEED TO LOOK AT THE COIT AND ELDORADO OPTION INSTEAD OF MOVING OUR KIDS OUT. KEEP WILLOW BAY NORTH TOGETHER!

just use portables for a year so they can fix this properly. dont rush kids to a school that isnt even in our neighborhood.
