William Heirens was a 17 yr old boy when he was arrested during a burgulary attempt. The city of Chicago was gripped by terror after the murder of a 6 yr old girl. The State Attorney had promised to find the killer and to convict him as soon as possible.
After the first few suspects were detained and then released, he was keen to have a definate conviction to put the city at ease.
This is where William Heirens comes into it, caught just a few blocks from the murder sceen the State Attorney then proclaimed to the papers that this time he definately had there killer in custoday.
With no more then a partical fingerprint that wasn't even a proper match he got the defense team to work on convicting william of the murder of the child and two other un-solved murders.
william was 17 in 1946 when he was convicted of 3 life sentences to run consective and 1 sentence of a year to life. That is a total of 61 yrs at the very least to serve.
William is now 80 yrs old has has been in jail for 62 yrs.
He has more then done his time as i am fully convinced that he is an innocent man.
I am including a link below of his case that can explain all the evidence and why i am convinced that he is innocent whole heartedly.
Please take the time to read it and sign my petition.
thank you.

The momentum behind this petition proves that people are finally waking up to the corruption that stole William Heirens' life. The state officials who railroaded a teenager for their own political gain can no longer hide from the truth.

The State Attorney's office continues to ignore the obvious truth that they used a teenager as a scapegoat to pacify a terrified city. I am digging through the old transcripts to expose exactly how they fabricated this case while real killers walked free. We will keep fighting until they admit this legal nightmare was a total sham.

Total miscarriage of justice. He was just a kid and they needed a scapegoat to calm the public down. Free him now.

62 years is enough for anyone. let the man go home already he's 80 years old.
