This petition, supported by the undersigned, is directed to Toronto City Councilor Sandra Bussin and other interested city officials. We ask you to support the continued use of Wildwood Dog Park. We, the undersigned parties, respectfully urge your encouragement in helping to keep Wildwood Dog Park open for the following reasons: * Most dogs need exercise over and above human limitations; leashes limit a dog\'s space and pace * The cardiovascular effect of dogs playing at the park is great for their longevity, weight control and general health. Overall, it helps to create calmer and better behaved dogs. * The socialization that dogs engage in at the dog park is very beneficial to the community because it makes them less skittish and mitigates aggressive behaviours when meeting other dogs and people. * Wildwood Dog Park helps keep the dogs away from the children\'s playground and from other park users who may not be dog oriented. * Wildwood Dog Park users keep the enclosed area clean of dog waste. They also ensure that dogs aren\'t using the playground and adjacent park space to do their \"business\". * The dog park provides a safe environment for the dogs to interact away from children and dangers such as cars, etc. * Some dogs, due to breed or personality, have a very strong instinct to run and explore and cannot be let off-leash even in any of the designated off-leash areas of the neighbourhood; Wildwood Dog Park gives those dogs an equal opportunity to have the freedom to run who would otherwise not be able to.
