Following Consultation of all Boat licence holders C&RT have concluded that owners of boats wider than 7, should pay more

This increase only affects owners of wider craft

This consultation was flawed in that owners of narrow craft should not have been consulted about an increase that did not affect them as the outcome was predictable and the conclusion unfair

We actually take up less space on our current online mooring now we have a 47ft wide beam in contrast to our previous 60ft narrow boat but will pay more and CART will also get more from the next moorer who uses the extra space.

Widebeam craft has a much restricted cruising area compared to narrow beam craft. Why wasn't that considered in the review? Why should narrow beam craft be allowed to influence a consultation in such a way that they escape without any licence cost increase?

I find this unfair, as a wide beam cruiser based on the river Trent I have access to only around 5% of the waterways due to height but will be expected to pay more whilst narrowboats with access to 100% of the network will not.

C&RT and BWML, wholly owned by C&RT currently, are unfairly extorting unfair licence and mooring fees from widebeams many of which are on residential moorings and have been family homes for over 30 years. Targeting only widebeams is discrimination.

If CRT are charging me a premium, I should get a premium canal and this is not the case. All this will achieve is to flush more wide beam boats out of Marinas and onto the canal network as boaters seek to rebalance their budgets.

Think it's ridiculous to charge w/beams more a lot of young couples are making them there first home and money is already tight. The next large sector to live on wide beams are retired and I think you charge us more than enough already.

How can it be right to have to pay more for only a fraction of the network. Perhaps we should get a group action going

Not able to use all of system but pay more than narrow boat, corruption at it's best
