I believe that Weymouth Highs Arts Programs should be expanded in a more elaborate way! Yes we have chorus, band, music theory, and not to mention all the actual art classes for the students who like to draw. But what about the students who want to peruse a career in theatre. We shouldn't have to wait until college to try and expand our knowledge on the theatrical arts! Sign this if you want to help Weymouth expand its arts program for the theatre kids!

The theater department remains underfunded despite our clear need for more resources. I am currently reaching out to school committee members to demand a formal meeting about these curriculum gaps. Send an email to your local representative today to insist on an expanded performing arts program.

Theater has helped so many kids make long-lasting friendships and come to realize who they are and what they love to do! How could you ever deny someone the opportunity to experience something as amazing as theater and commit to it so early on?
It is ludicrous that students have to take STEM classes and are expected to have a high aptitude for them, but aren't encouraged to explore the arts as well. It is even more upsetting that there are so few optional arts classes available in comparison to the number and carrier of math and science classes.
Yes! I had the amazing pleasure of getting you meet some of you guys at Prelims yesterday (and Semis last year!!). As a student from Framingham, we have so many options to explore theatre, and it's really great exposure for those who want to pursue theatre as a career. A school with such an outstanding company deserves the same opportunities! Best of luck to Weymouth, Framingham loves you so much!!!
WHS (and all high schools for that matter) should absolutely have theater classes and I wish they had had them when I went there. However, having them would only be worth it if they were taught by qualified theatrical/teaching professionals. Anyone can act, but it takes a special, trained professional to teach young people how to act well.
ABSOLUTELY WHS needs these theatre classes because it has many students who take this seriously and want to pursue this
This is absolutely crucial for the artistic development of our students.
Acting and musical theatre classes would be an excellent aspect and addition to the fine arts program of Weymouth High School. PLEASE add them!!!

There are some seriously amazingly talented kids in the WHTC, and they deserve classes in theater that will really help them pursue what they love.
