I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by the momentum behind this request. It is truly incredible to see how many people care about our local food system and I am deeply grateful to everyone who helped bring attention to this idea.

This seems like such a simple, friendly, and indeed *useful* alteration of a rather draconian and unjustifiable ordinance!
what are other city ordinances allowing? how and when is this being presented to the city of weston? it would be great for this to pass. requiring 5 continuous acres in the city limits of weston under Section 205.150 Farm Animals and Livestock. [Ord. No. 6.002 §15, 3-10-2008] is more than just a little silly.
We're considering moving to downtown Weston but the only thing keeping us from moving there is the lack of a backyard/urban chicken ordinance.
I cant imagine why you would want to ban chickens from weston?! That's insane. It's a FARM TOWN
Not being able to help sustain yourself by having a few backyard chickens is ludicrous. What would our ancestors think of this?

Would be nice to have some fresh eggs and not have to buy them. Plus gets the kids outside and off the couch when it’s time to feed them.
