We, the undersigned, being residents, parents, teachers, students and/or business-owners of West Bloomfield wish to improve the education of West Bloomfield students by implementing Pre-AP classes in our Middle Schools.

We wish to have a Pre-AP curriculum for Sciences, Math, English, Humanities, Languages, Technology and Arts for our Middle School Students. Providing such a challenging and rigorous curriculum will only further improve our district's mission of "Educating Students to be their Best IN and FOR the World." This improvement of our schools "...will develop socially responsible citizens empowered to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing global society, and who are characterized by curiosity, creativity, critical thinking and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate."

We, the undersigned, also believe, as does our School District:

·         all children can and will learn;

·         students learn best through authentic and engaging experiences;

·         each student has unique talents which deserve development;

·         equity and access to rigorous curriculum is every student’s right;

·         inquiry-based instruction fosters critical thinking and creative problem solving.

We would like to see initial implementation of the Pre-AP Program to be in place for all Middle School students in the 2012-2013 school year.
