West Cemetery is being developed for around 5 million pounds. What do Darlington people want? Here's the report from the council.

So .. let's petitions for a new purpose built chapel, cremetorium and gardens to be sustainable and serviceable to our local area rather than renovations to the existing site. Including split site chapel and cremetorium ( where our deceased are transported on electrical vehicals to thier final resting place) with a throughfayre past an old folks home onto Salutation Road.
The conversation surrounding the future of West Cemetery continues to grow as more neighbors voice their preference for a sustainable, purpose-built facility. I am currently gathering these perspectives to ensure that the final proposal reflects the genuine needs of our community rather than the current renovation plan.

Reaching this current level of support demonstrates that many of our neighbors desire a thoughtful alternative to the proposed cemetery renovations. This momentum suggests a genuine collective interest in ensuring our local facilities serve the community with both sustainability and respect.

People should not be transported following a cremation it is undignified for this to be even proposed, where is the compassion??? if our buildings are no longer fit for purpose then we must consider building new provisions potentially elsewhere if that is the best solution and in order for services to be sustainable for the future.

The roads are to narrow. Salutation road will be blocked every time there's a funeral with all the cars leaveing at the sametime

Councils Plans don’t look at the long term. Darlington and surrounding areas need a long term new facility to cope with ever increasing sustainable of burials and cremations in a dignified loving manner. A new facility is needed on outskirts of town. Knock your heads together and deliver on what is sensible and needed.
