As business owners in Duvall and Carnation, we are writing to express our support for both cities to be deemed a Welcoming City! We feel a moral imperative to ensure that our beautiful, fast growing city remain a shining example of American values; inclusivity, diversity, acceptance, compassion, and courage. We feel there is no place for fear in Duvall/Carnation and call on our great City Councils and Mayors to help hold up the umbrella of kindness by joining the Welcoming City Network. We will be in allegiance with cities and counties like Seattle, Tacoma, King County, Salt Lake County, Houston, Boise, Philadelphia, and so many more. We are fortunate to live and do business in one of the most prosperous, safest communities in Washington State. With that privilege, comes responsibility to all our community members. Becoming a Welcoming City is a stop toward clarity and abolishing any fear that might be growing in our community for undocumented folks, Muslim neighbors, LGBTQ, and People of Color.
