The current Weis house emblem resembles the Rising Sun flag used by the Japanese Army during World War II, under which numerous war crimes were committed, including Pearl Harbor (see below). The Rising Sun flag stands for Japanese militarism, fascism, and imperialism; comparable to the Nazi Swastika. It is understood that the resemblance was not intended; the colored image differs from the Japanese flag despite the general design. However, this broadening rays uniquely found on the Japanese flag, combines with the monochromatic nature to add resemblance to the said flag. Should the broadening rays be modified, the resemblance between the two designs would decrease dramatically. Requests: 1) Inform the Weis family about the controversial nature of the emblem. 2) Modify sun's rays to lessen the resemblance: A: By using waved rays, or B: Tapering lines (opposite of current direction) Japanese War Crimes in WWII: -Pearl Harbor (United States) -Cannibalism (Worldwide) -Mass Murder: Ex. Nanjing Massacre: over 300,000 slaughtered over 6 weeks, city destroyed. Also called “The Rape of Nanjing.” (China) -731 Unit: Biological experiments on human specimen including vivisection without anesthesia, immune responses to deadly pathogens, and chemical weapon testing (China, Korea, South East Asia, Pacific Islands and more). -Comfort Women: conscripted women put in a government-sanctioned brothel (China, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Burma, Thailand, etc.)
