For a little over a year the large lecture room Weil 270 has not had adequate air conditioning, this is unacceptable, and we the students need to do something about it. Soon temperatures will be steadily above 80 degrees outside, and from my experience that means that the conditions in this room will be raised to unbearable (not just because of the heat but mostly due to the gym-sock-like smell). Lets show that we need to change these conditions by signing this petition.

The silence from the facilities office has been frustrating but it only confirms that we need to keep pushing. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the administration to document these ongoing conditions before the heat gets worse.

The momentum behind this is growing and it confirms that I am not the only one struggling to breathe in that heat. It has been a long and exhausting stretch of ignored emails but seeing this level of frustration confirms we are right to push for change.

As students we are still expected to be able to pay attention in our (already difficult) courses that take place in this classroom. Not only is this a huge and unfair distraction during class but imagine taking an exam where you're sweating, thirsty, and beginning to feel light headed. I have had friends that needed to be excused during class just to walk outside and feel the breeze before fainting. Our professors continuously apologize about the "inconvenience" but this is the first time I've seen any real action towards fixing this problem.
Every time I come to class in Weil 270 I get very distracted due to the inclement heat that is caused by the lack of air condition.
Taking classes in this room in the afternoon is awful, makes paying attention incredibly diffuclt
I've had to leave class 2 times because of the intense heat. I am very susceptible to heat exhaustion and felt that the classroom environment was dangerous to my health. Neither of those classes have online supplements and therefore I have had trouble finding material that was covered during the days I had to miss.
Not only does it get exceptionally hot, the lack of proper AC also means there is a lack of proper air flow leading to an exceptionally odorous environment which is detrimental to the classroom.
AC is a constitutional right.
Why is it soooooo hot?!?!

Almost all engineering buildings have bad air conditioning in there lecture halls. This room being one of them, when it is hotter in the room then it is outside, it makes it really hard to focus on the material in class.
