Best Western Sandman Hotel in Sacramento is a convenient cheap hotel for the company. But at what expense to us, the employees that stay there?
Several Drivers have had bed bug sightings and bites, but unfortunately only a couple have reported it to the company. And the company (ABF) has chosen to not take the bites serious and when the bites were brought to the attention of management, they claimed to not be responsible.
We need to get out of the hotel as soon as possible, nobody should have to replace their furniture at home and have carpet replaced from an infestation you brought back into your house from this hotel.

Management continues to ignore our reports about the bed bugs. Text three other drivers today to make sure they document every single bite they find. We need to build a paper trail that the company cannot ignore.

Have been bitten several times this year lost at least one day of work due to complications
This the best western is unsafe and dangerous! I have been given rooms With people that have broken into! The staff there has broken into my room while sleeping and threaten me because they thought I was a homeless that broke into the room. I have been bitten by bed bugs there and I have dealt with cockroaches and unsanitary conditions at the best western!

Personal safety is more of a issue to me and there should be options of where to stay.
I haven't stayed at the Best Western in over 1 year. I have heard the hotel has experienced state-related issues with homeless problems that are out of their control. I have had reasonable experiences staying there myself. Best Western Sandman has treated me well over the years and I would stay there again. However I do have an issue with the company not giving the drivers options for other accommodations. All other laydown terminals have 2 or more hotels to choose from, but Sac 155 terminal has insisted all drivers go to 1 hotel with no other option. This is forcing drivers to stay somewhere he or she does not feel safe or comfortable. And this does affect our rest, safety and job performance Please consider giving our team of road drivers other options in Sacramento so we can feel rested and perform our duty safely. Thank you .

Sandman hotel in Sacramento Ca has gone down homeless all over and on property. You can't leave your room to grab a bite to eat without a homeless person bothering you. I stayed the last 2 trips there and Tuesday room smelled real bad order of cigarettes smell . And smoke detector covered in plastic. And trip 2 I killed a spider and a mosquito bit my nose. People were talking and smoking weed and cigarettes that smoke goes into room from gaps in the doors. I use a cpap and that smell goes into my lungs. Very unhealthy. I ask are union rep and Ed Myers to spend the night there.and they will see for them selves how bad and unsafe it is and they won't get proper rest that we need.I know ABF management stays at a holiday inn in Elk grove 10 miles from the terminal and Get good clean and safe rest there. Are we second class citizens that we can't stay there like management?

This is a serious problem that should be taken extremely serious! The damage of this kind of infestation is far reaching and exceedingly expensive to rectify. It is beyond the scope of what a single paycheck can fix and should not be at the expense of each driver to bare. The company should not allow their people to be subject to deal with this while their drivers are doing their loyal duties for the company
