After being home since March, our kids desperately need to go back to full time school in the fall. Part time school, or any version of home learning is not acceptable.

I work full time and keeping up with this remote work is impossible. Please just let them go back 5 days a week already.

My kids are losing their minds at home. They need their teachers and they need to see their friends. This hybrid stuff is just not working for anyone.

You are all crazy. Keep the kids out of school until a plan is in place to address how to handle in-person teaching during COVID. Stop being so damn selfish.

They MUST go back to school. Take precautions like anywhere else, but they must go back.

My son will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Online learning was an abject failure. I am a lawyer, not a teacher. I cannot do my job and I cannot teach him. We cannot put our children permanently behind out of fear. Put measures in place to make them safe. Don't deny them an education.

To be honest, all of you are justifiably crazy and self-absorbed. How selfish can you be to demand "I want my kids back at school". This isn't just about you and what you want, and COVID-19 isn't just affecting you. It's a pandemic and it's affecting *everyone* in the world. I would argue more so for the people currently in hospitals hooked up to ventilators who have a high probability of dying. And it isn't just people over 65 years old, it's affecting younger kids too (https://nyti.ms/36sUQoh). Do you want to knowingly put your kid(s) in a dangerous environment? The purpose of the stay at home order was to prevent our hospitals from getting overwhelmed, and it worked for the most part (mainly outside of Queens that don't need refrigerated trailers as a temporary morgue). It really isn't comforting to me to say: "Well, my kid is back at school and I'm not worried about COVID because there's space for him at the hospital now". Do you really think that's ok? I'm sorry that this event is making you 'parent' or have to come up with things for your kids to do. It's even more challenging when if you're still fortunate to have a job in place as it's not easy to both 'teach' and work at your own job. However, school is not a babysitting program. More importantly, instead of spending time on complaining, why don't you spend more time developing answers to the issues that need to be addressed before school can open again? Will the school schedule need to be changed to A,B,A,B,home to maintain distancing and ensure adequate cleaning of the rooms? What to do if a kid refuses to wear a mask? What to do if a teacher refuses to wear a mask? How to handle playground equipment? Gym equipment? What about masks for special needs kids - how will that be handled? What will you do if your kid(s) get sick? Will you submit to what would likely be extensive testing that the town/county/state would require before the child can re-enter the classroom? Not

TBH, all of you are crazy. Stop being so self centered and understand that it's not just YOU who are being affected by this. This is affecting everyone in the country, more so for those who are hooked up to ventilators and have a high potential to die. And it isn't just those older than 65 who are affected...we're now learning that younger kids can have issues after a initial encounter with COVID (https://nyti.ms/36sUQoh). Do you want to knowingly subject your kid(s) to this? Sounds like you do. More importantly, have you considers how the school would actually teach in-person during COVID? There are many decisions to be made. Masks on teachers? Masks on kids? Alternating days as: A,B,A,B, home to ensure personal distancing and cleaning of the classrooms? What if your kid gets sick? Are you prepared to submit to what the town/county/state requires of you? Why don't you do something more than complain about "I want my kids in school because there's nothing for them to do at home", and actually do something that's useful for the community.
