We spoke, What happened? The New White Earth constitution was approved when 2,780 (79.61%) voted to APPROVE the Constitution and 712 (20.39%) voted to REJECT. This happened November 19th, 2013, since then the tribal council and the MCT have blocked all attempts to implement to include returning the grant monies that were giving to help support the transition. The tribal council has enacted a gag order on the 'Anishinaabeg Today' stating no updates on the constitution can be printed. Ignoring the VOICE of the people and trying to silence us in the media has to STOP! It is time to tell our elected officials to honor our voice and move forward with the new constitution and to work to find reasonable solutions and compromises with MCT to move past their objections. We are the people, We are the voice, the council must respect our collective choice! Please sign and share with all!

I am truly humbled by the way this momentum has grown beyond anything I imagined. It belongs to all of you who refuse to let our collective choice be ignored.

You represent the people, obey the vote and move the New Constitution forward. You fight the vote then you fight the tribal members.. the people. Shame. Treason.
These acts are examples of why we need the new constitution implemented . No checks & balances leads to corruption.
I am a first generation descendant, my late father was an enrolled member of white earth and would be turning over in his grave if he knew about this. This issue has divided families, it is time to make us whole again and implement the new constitution that passed by 80% of the vote.
the gag order has me upset what is that all about?do we not have the right to know what is going on.
Approve the Constitution! I am 82 yrs. old and only 2 of my children can be tribal members. That is wrong.
The PEOPLE have spoken. Get it through your thick skulls and stop hijacking the political process.
I would like to see my grandchildren enrolled as they are very much native and want to be native very badly, but if you refuse them membership in the Tribe, that's going to be very disappointing to them. I am a full blooded Ojibwe.

There must be respect for the Elders, living and passed. To survive, We must follow the will of those that have passed, and that is to ensure that our Tribe continue to exist ... for eternity. Listen, hear, act. Actions of a selfish few should not endanger the future of the Tribe. If nothing changes, We will disappear as a Tribe within a century. Act now!
