Sandra Hudson used to be the director and president of the University of Toronto Students Union.

In the spring of 2014, she was accused of embezzling over $250,000 in a scheme where she terminated her own employment days before her contract expiry, just so she could claim 2 years pay for wrongful termination.

In addition, she received additional cheques in the tens of thousands of dollars for what she claimed were unpaid hours of overtime even though they were never properly documented.

BUT WHY HAVE A PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THIS LAWSUIT IF IT IS STILL AN ONGOING LEGAL AFFAIR?

Just a few days ago, the Black Liberation Collective on the U of T campus demanded that the UTSU drop the "racist" "lawsuit [that] was created to criminalize her and discredit the work that she has done for the betterment of all students across Canada."

We cannot let our student representatives on the UTSU succumb to pressure by activists on campus to drop a lawsuit which seeks to reclaim our money.

We need to prove that there is a large contigent of students and citizens that support this lawsuit to its rightful conclusion, no matter what activists demand.

It will be passed on to the UTSU prior to the AGM at the end of October.
