We, the residents Rhode Island, feel that opening Schools will be detrimental to Our Children, Teachers, Custodians, Bus Drivers, the entire School Community and everyone's Families. With all of the unknown factors factors associated with COVID we feel that you are playing Russian Roulette with Our Children, Teachers, the entire School Community and Our Families. COVID has already claimed so many lives and they still don't know what long term affects it has on Children. The one affect we know that is has on a Child is they can lose their LIFE to it! And if one Child Dies from catching it in School, that is one child to Many. If one Teacher Dies from catching it in school, that is one teacher to many. If one Custodian Dies, well I think you get it!! You say we need to open Schools for the Children's Mental Health? Let us ask; What happens to the child's mental health when they are told, stay six feet apart, NO Hugging, NO Touching, NO Interaction at All, must stay in the same room All Day, etc.. Don't you realize the fear and Anxiety YOU are instilling in these Children. And when the day comes that you have to tell these children that one of Their Class Mates or Teachers has Died from catching COVID at School, what happens to their Mental Health Then!!!!!! Listen to YOUR COMMUNITY!! Continue with Distant Learning.

This petition Serves a Dual purpose, it is to let YOU know that it is not just a Select Handful of People making this Demand to Continue with Distant Learning, It is Families and Entire Communities. So, Please Listen to Your Residents.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response to this concern for our families. This movement is growing entirely because you decided that our children deserve to be safe at home. I am just humbled to be a part of this collective effort.

I feel it is extremely unsafe to go back into the classrooms in providence without social distancing, without masks and in groups of 25 to 30! This endangers children’s and teacher’s lives!

We cannot safety resume in person school until testing is faster. Right now it is 10 business days. How can our children and staff be kept safe if it takes weeks before they even know there is an issue?

I work in a public school. I have several auto immune diseases. I feel like my health is in jeopardy if I return back to work while there is still such a risk. Please consider the teachers and staff as well as all the children. There is no harm in waiting.

My daughter is a severe asthmatic & I feel that it’s not fair that none of our children are being thought of when it comes to a virus no one really knows about , especially children with health issues . Both of my children will not be going to school.

I have two children, one with Special needs who contracts every cold and flu he has come across and the other has breathing issues. On top of that we live in an in-law house with my parents who are both in their upper 70's.

I don’t think Is safe to send our kids to school until there is a vaccine for the virus. I personally don’t feel safe if they go back because I am due to have my third baby sometime next week and I would not want my kids to go school and bring the virus back to the house.
