We The People Need To Set Term Limits for the US Congress
If we, the citizens of the United States, leave it up to Congress, term limits will never be successfully introduced, voted on, or passed in Congress - every proposal will be DoA on arrival, because no career politician wants to lose his/her income and benefits. There will always be career politicians who will take advantge of the people and they will, at the people's expense, enrich themselves. This petition is to propose that the question of term limits be placed on the national ballot in every state for the next presidential election. The proposal is to have the people vote on term limits as follows: Congressional representatives serve no more than 4 years and receive no additional benefits except their salary during service, and Senators serve no more than 4 years, and receive no additonal benefits except their salaries during service. An additonal question on the ballot would be that if anyone serving a current and/or future term in Congress should be subject to the same health insurance benefit and retirement plans as ordinary citizens.
