We the undersigned citizens of St.Eustatius are AGAINST the violent statements made by Island Counsil member Clyde van Putten instigating hate crime against the military, where he said:" We will kill the military and burn them in the streets of St.Eustatius".

Seeing this much support for our military members shows that our community refuses to accept threats of violence. I am incredibly moved by how many of you stepped up to reject those hateful words against the people who keep us safe.

How many streets did mr. Van Putten clean, how many people did he help, shameful indeed, he does not represent any person I have met on Statia. He needs needs to be removed from office. No elected politician should be allowed to speak that way.
Statia people are peaceful and Clyde is all about lies and making up stories to impress the crowd. Everything is a big show. We need serious leaders.
I feel that it would be in place for CVP to extend his excuses to the Dutch kingdom, the Dutch military, their families, and to the people of St.Eustatius! I condemn his behaviour. The violence expressed by CVP does not represent the people of St.Eustatius (Statia ), for we are not a violent or unappreciative community. I stand with the men and women of our Dutch Military!
I stand with our men and women in the Dutch military they are our protection if needed and when needed Statia don’t have a military and therefore we are dependent on our Dutch military They are who we have.
I sign this petition because I to was in the Military and all the military does is their job and never ever threatened anyone in Statia including Mr. Clyde van Putten. This is disgusting and totally uncalled for.
I admire and applaud all of you/us who see this as violence and incitement of extreme violence by no less than a "Politician". How can anyone get in their mind to publicly make such a statement? How can anyone even think or have thoughts of killing and murdering the very force that protects us. To say I disappointed is an understatement to say the least. It prove that perhaps this man is demented, criminal minded and or just plainly motivated by greed and power. I stated my case and I SUPPORT the movement.
