Cayman Compass Petition - Caymanians standing up against discrimination!
We, the undersigned individuals, wish to express our disappointment and outrage to the management and owners of the Cayman Compass regarding the political cartoon that ran on March 16, 2015 making light of the employment situation of young Caymanians. We do not find this cartoon funny and in fact are of the opinion that it is discriminatory and anti-Cayman and perpetrates a stereotype that does not represent the vast majority of unemployed Caymanians. We have been sorely disappointed in the approach that the Compass editorial board has taken on a number of issues recently specifically as they relate to all things Caymanian. However, this is the height of ignorance and we wish to express our disapproval and demand a published apology. We are also signing to indicate that we have no intentions of purchasing your various publications until an apology is published.

Seeing this much energy behind our cause is deeply humbling during such a frustrating fight. I am exhausted by the silence from the management yet seeing your resolve keeps me moving forward.

I am appalled at how someone can generalize a population to show how unmotivated young Caymanians can be. Unemployment in Cayman is not a joking matter as people young and old are putting in so much effort to just a "foot in the door".
i am a young caymanian who has been getting up everyday hitting town and west bay road trying find work...its hard enough no getting any calls back then have to deal with that offensive behaviour of the cayman compass
Very insulting and highly offensive. It also appears to capture and accurately represent the views of the Compass as this is far from the first highly offensive (to Caymanians) material to appear.
Why dont they dónate a page in classified section for the unemployed to register for the Job they are seeking so prospective employers can pick and choose an employee? Now that would be showing fairness!
I Gwendolee Goff I am very disappointed and insulted which this cartoon, as a Caymanian unemployed in this country. I will not been buying anymore compass until a public apology is written to us. This is ashamed that after we make you all Caymanians this is how we are treated shame shame
Totally disappointed with this!! I am a sixth generation caymanian with 3 ambitious children. 2 teachers and a senior IT technician! I was working during school holidays from time I was 11 years old, so please stop bashing us!! Grow up and be an adult please!! Maybe it is time to put a moratorium on the issuing of CAYMANIAN CITIZENSHIP!!

This is unacceptable and has to stop! How dare you paint such an unrealistic picture of us young Caymanians, especially when over half of us have gone to university to get degrees to better ourselves!
