Everyone should be against this. They can have this range outside in a safe zone where no one can hear those sounds. If we want to make America great again then it's only possible with these children.

Ok with gun range, just move it further from school. Maybe the location originally planned for library

As mother of a five year old my heart sinks to even think about this.We have enough incidents in the past that prove this is an extremely dangerous thing.
I request the committee members to call off their decision .

Surely a there's a more appropriate location for the gun range to be built than the backyard of an elementary school.

Sorry but why are people who don't send their children to Dolsen, living in Livonia commenting on this proposal? What nickel do any of you have?
Do you pay taxes in Lyon Township? Do you vote in Lyon Township? Do you serve on the Dolsen PTO? Do you serve on any of the boards in South Lyon or Lyon Township?
I didn't think so either, thanks for weighing in though!

Besides the obvious of this facility begin to close to Dolsen Elementary School, it's to close to any Elementary School. With the recent tragedies of school shootings I find it extremely insensitive to our families. There is plenty of land to build on away from schools and homes. Please do not give approval to this facility. Thank you

The concept of safety is a perception each person has to realize. We can argue 2nd Amendment rights and statistics for and against gun rights and no one will win. That being said, the people most affected by the perception of safety in respect to the location of this business are the residents near it and the parents, children, and employees at Dolsen. We have the most direct line of affect by this. I own guns. I shoot guns. I have shot at indoor and outdoor ranges. I understand the economi gains the township can realize. That said, as a parent and a person that knows this location will ultimately affect other children and parents in the future, I cannot imagine that the township and this business owner would show less busy savvy and afrtont commonsense more than looking to place this range in this location. Especially when the township and private owners can easily accommodate the land needs. This is a day in age where we see and know gun violence and schools happen all to often. Safety, and a perception of it being available or having less of it, shouldn't be lightly bargained by a board and an owner that are sympathetic only to their own agenda and needs verses being empathetic and more savvy when addressing such a hot button topic.
