More than 40% of food produced in the United States is wasted because of its size, shape, or color. Much of this wasted food is thrown into landfills, completely unused. This food could be given to the hungry people across America, which could save lives by decreasing the number of deaths as a result of hunger. We are aiming to add a law that makes grocery stores and other local markets donate the healthy food that they don't use. We want people to sign this petition so healthy, unused food gets donated to those who need it.

Reaching this level of support is exhausting but it proves that people are finally seeing how much good food we are throwing away. I am tired of the excuses from these retailers while hunger persists in our own neighborhoods. We have momentum now and I intend to keep pushing forward until this policy changes.

Totally agree. A bruised apple is still an apple. Lets stop the waste.
