I have spent time in the library this week watching how current space allocations impact our daily productivity. Many of you have reached out with similar accounts of being turned away from study areas that remain underutilized. These experiences are the driving force behind the proposal I am currently drafting for the administration.

Seeing this conversation grow confirms that many of us recognize the need for a more equitable use of our study spaces. The momentum building behind this request reflects a shared desire for fairness in how our university resources are allocated.

As undergrads, we should have access to personal study rooms and gain equal access just as graduate students have. We all study and work hard for our education, it doesn’t make sense to limit that access towards undergrads
its honestly ridiculous that the rooms sit empty all day while we get stuck sitting on the floor in the hallway just to study before finals. we pay the same tuition so let us use the library rooms like everyone else.
This is extremely important for those serious undergraduates who use the library to study, who also unfortunately have a vast array of loud, disrespectful peers! We pay for access to the library, which should include the private study rooms (AND they are always empty anyway)!
There are so few study rooms in the campus housing. If we're paying for these rooms, we deserve the right to use them!
I agree with this petition at all times I am not with three students I am by myself or someone else. A minimum of three students to study is good, but as mentioned this is not all the time. If the study room is available any student should be allowed to use it.

I am also a utep student, and I believe that this would benefot a lot of people.
