My husband and I can not believe how congested our roads are in the Huntington community! We were at one of Huntington’s parks. Someone became ill. They called an ambulance. It took 25 minutes for it to arrive. What should have taken ten minutes. This is a serious concern as people also have appointments and they rush to their appointments cutting in front of cars to get there in time. Something needs to be done about this traffic & over crowding in our community. New massive housing communities being built are also adding to this traffic. It’s not well thought out.

“Friendly interpretations” of zoning laws are a bad precedent to be setting. This intersection is already plagued with traffic that is often impassable and far too many accidents. Add to that the negative impact this establishment would likely have on the nearby thriving deli and pizza place. Residents in the adjacent neighborhood do not want this type of business and lighting and potential 24 hour opening.
Enough with overdeveloping and bending the rules.

I have lived near this intersection for 48 years. Changing the zoning to allow a completely unnecessary standalone fast-food restaurant would be the tip of the iceberg, spawning how many other unnecessary establishments that will make the intersection, with its "speedway" lanes that encourage drivers to see who is first to cross Pulaski and how many cars they can pass on the right before the lanes disappear, even more of a hazard. A McD will be a magnet for transients who camp behind the Family Service League, a sad situation that can be seen from Park Avenue. Encourage some kind of development that would serve the community and be in keeping with surrounding enterprises, using current zoning. The zoning board should think first about what the surrounding community might need, which is certainly not a purveyor of unhealthy food.

We don’t want the entrance to our Huntington neighborhood to be a McDonalds! Ours is a historic town and only a few house down you will see historic homes! Offer something, anything that speaks to our villages origins.
We don’t need traffic backed up further than it already is.
Please find another way to use this location. Deny a fast food place- it’s not healthy food anyway!

This would be terrible… I live a few blocks away and there is already too much traffic at this intersection and has only gotten worse over the years!! It’s the last thing we need over here
