Our intersection is already a critical corridor - emergency vehicles, local small businesses, and the community’s character all depend on its balance. A fast-food chain here would not only overwhelm traffic but would erode the unique, thoughtful businesses that make this area ours. Let’s keep this intersection a safe, community-focused space - not just another drive-thru.

There is enough conjestion without adding more and the community doesn't want it. That should be enough!!!

I oppose McDonald's being built on the corner of Park Avenue and Pulaski Road in Huntngton.

With respect, I am opposed to McDonald’s being on the corner of Park Avenue and Pulaski, the traffic is already very heavy in this area. A busy food chain like McDonald’s can only make it worse in my opinion.

Live near buy Park Avenue is blocked all day long now. I sometimes have to wait 4 lights to cross Pulaski Rd

Frankly, we are tired of the overdevelopment in Huntington. We are tired of politicians trying to turn this area into Queens. Enough is enough. Lets note a few issues we have with this stupid proposal. Traffic Congestion: The intersection of Park Avenue and Pulaski Road is a major, heavily-traveled corridor. A fast-food drive-thru will create severe traffic bottlenecks, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours. Safety Hazards: According to a traffic study cited by our 'officials', this intersection currently experiences a crash rate more than four times the statewide average. Adding a high-volume business and complex turning movements could exacerbate these risks. Emergency Vehicle Delays: The location is a critical route for emergency responders and ambulances traveling to nearby Northwell Health facilities and Huntington Hospital. We worry that traffic backups will impede these life-saving routes. Neighborhood Character & Quality of Life: This ridiculous proposal for a large-scale fast-food chain like McDonalds, who's menus already contributed to the pathetic obesity epidemic in this country, especially for kids, just doesn't fit the character of the surrounding residential areas and nearby community spaces like Fair Meadow Park. It will 100% bring increases in crime, vagrancy, noise, lighting, litter, and odors. Zoning Disputes: McDonald's has faced scrutiny for attempting to categorize the site as a "food shop" rather than a "restaurant" to bypass certain zoning board reviews, prompting hundreds of us to formally object to the plan at public hearings. NO IS NO. Don't do it, or you'll face the consequences at the next election.

Please no McDonalds or fast food business

A McDonald’s on this corner does not deserve the exception of zoning relief. Traffic merges into 1 lane on the north and proposed eastbound exiting over 3 west bound lanes is not an acceptable alternative to 2 site curb cut within the proposed layout. Accident rates will increase and traffic congestion will be highly impacted for those traveling northbound to the trains. Finally why do we need a 24 hour fast food restaurant in a commercial area that operates 9-5 daily and is closed on the weekends. If you want McDonald’s go to Jericho Tpk Route 110 of the two on Deer Park Ave. Sorry Ronald, NO CAN DO!

This area of Park Avenue is very congested already and this will only add to that congestion

I hope the points that were mentioned at the meeting last week will be seriously considered and this ridiculous idea of a McDonalds in our neighborhood is denied.

Jericho turnpike, not far away , has Macdonald's and several other fast food places. Let’s keep Pulaski rd the way it is and lets not turn it into another Jericho turnpike

A fast food drive-through is a totally inappropriate use of this property! Traffic is bad enough as it is. In addition, it does not fit in with the overall character of the neighborhood including night-time activity. It would also set a potentially problematic precedent for other, similar, zoning change requests

We do not need a drive-through McDonald’s or a fast food restaurant on that corner. Let’s preserve the Neighborhood.

We do not need this at Park Ave and Pulaski. McDonald’s is a restaurant and should not be rezoned as a “food shop.” If that logic were applied consistently, every McDonald’s worldwide would fall under the same category, which is simply not accurate. Food shops are delis, and I have never seen a deli with a drive‑through.This proposal would also increase traffic on a roadway that is already heavily congested. The area is primarily residential, with only a few medical facilities nearby, and cannot support additional traffic from a fast‑food corporation. Given the location, this proposal should have been dismissed immediately by the town. A fast‑food operation at that intersection is unreasonable.

We do not need, nor do we want, an unsightly corporate retail structure in our neighborhood. Local residents do not intend to support a Starbucks, nor do we need a coffee store on this corner nor any other corner in Huntington Township.

Huntington is a beautiful neighborhood. There are many McDonald’s close by, there doesn’t need to be another one at the busy corner of Park & Pulaski. Adding it at this location would be an enormous mistake for many reasons. Once one is added here, it unlocks a trend for similar things to go up in this space. That’s not what we want here! If it’s busy now, it will be even busier, not to mention that it will not be what we want to look at-not why we moved here!!! Adding a McDonald’s to the corner of Park Ave. & Pulaski shows no thought. As I already said, it’s an extremely busy intersection; it’s also a road that is often used by Ambulances and Fire Engines. This will be made even more difficult by those going to get their Big Macs. This will be intensified while it’s being built. McDonald’s said at the Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting that they were open to reducing their proposed 24 working hours. How much less would that be? It would have to be a lot less than 24 hours to feel like it was in our neighborhood. McDonalds also works 364 days a year. Too much! It will bring more traffic, lots of odor, and an enormous environmental impact! It doesn’t belong here! NO!

I was at June 4th Zoning Appeals Board meeting for 4 hours., and it was so obvious why MacDonalds ‘ requests should be denied for all the right reasons.Living here from 50+ years, there was always a bank there. A bank is not a MacDonalds that would cause even more traffic congestion, more accidents, more hazards and problems, etc.. this intersection has 2 heavily travelled main roads, and I have been told that there are even more accidents occurring at this intersection than at the next big problematic dangerous intersection of East Pulaski and Cuba Hill Road, which is where I had my bad car accident 10 months ago. Another very dangerous intersection where car accidents are occurring constantly, and where a left turning arrow is desperately needed. This is another essential cause worth supporting. To me it is all about peoples’ safety, reducing traffic congestion, securing clear roads for ambulances, fire trucks to get to their destinations in the needed time are the top priorities, and the people who live here, who travel to work here, all know this is what truly is important. And having MacDonalds on this particular corner is definitely not what our beautiful and wonderful community needs and is definitely not in our best interests.. We love our suburban Community. This is our home nd we all want to preserve this quality of life. Please keep helping us do that by rejecting MacDonald’s ability to build here. Than you.
