POC is a name that, as of late, has become popular here in America and we don't like it; we were born in America and are heirs to this land. In times past, we fought to remove the label of "Colored People", only to be renamed People of Color.
African-American is another label that does not reflect who we are; many people in the Black Community have never been to Africa. Most of us were born in America, as were our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents were.
This is unacceptable, as these labels have done nothing more than further divide us, as a nation. The amount of melanin in our skin does not define our culture; we are all Americans, ONE nation under God, with liberty and justice for ALL.
