لمبادرة الليبية للتقدم تناشد المجلس الوطنى الانتقالى السماح للليبيين ( رجال و نساء) الذين يحملون اكثر من جنسية الترشيح للإنتخابات وشغل مقعد فى المؤتمر الوطنى العام ومؤسسات الدولة مستقبلا .

العديد من الليبيين اجبروا على الهجرة من قبل نظام الطاغية

خاصة المعارضين والناشطين ضده .

وخلال حكم الطاغية الذي امتد لمدة طويلة ولد وترعرع جيل

من الليبيين في الخارج ، والواضح من خلال تفاعلهم تجاه ثورة 17 فبراير أن الكثير من اولئك الرجال و النساء وطنيين بالمعنى الصحيح فهم لم يديروا لها ظهورهم بل خدموا وطنهم وقت الحاجة ويوم نادى المنادي ومستعدين لخدمة وطنهم في المستقبل .

خلال الانتفاضة ساند الليبيون في مختلف دول العالم الثورة

من خلال الضغط على الحكومات الاجنبية والإتصال بوسائل

الاعلام و بصانعي القرارات ، الكثير منهم عاد الى ليبيا وحارب في الجبهات : أطباء عادوا لمعالجة الجرحى ، محامون تظاهروا من اجل العدالة ، افراد ضحوا باوقاتهم واموالهم لدعم العديد من الجمعيات بما من ذلك جمعيات الاغاثة الليبية الحديثة ومنظمات المساعدة التي اوصلت مساعدات إنسانية ومواد مختلفة .

الاف الليبيون الحاملي لأكثر من جنسية ضحوا بأوقاتهم ومهاراتهم وأموالهم وفى حالات كثيرة بأرواحهم من أجل الثورة .

فى مختلف ربوع المعمورة يوجد عشرات من الليبيين ، أطباء ومحامين ومهندسين وإقتصاديين وأكاديميين ومدرسين وأصحاب مهن مختلفة يملكون الكثير لتقديمه الى ليبيا وقد تمنوا منذ زمن بعيد العودة الى أرض الوطن فلابد من تشجيعهم على ذلك .

 نأمل من المجلس الوطنى الانتقالى السماح لليبين الحاملى لأكثر من جنسية الترشح لإنتخابات المؤتمر الوطنى العام ومؤسسات الدولة المستقبلية .

Libyan Progress Initiative asks the National Transitional Council to allow Libyan men and women who hold multiple nationalities to be eligible to run for election and hold office in Libya's General National Congress and future governmental institutions  Many Libyans were forced into exile by Gaddafi's Regime especially those who actively opposed him. During Gaddafi's long rule new generations of Libyans were born and raised abroad. It can be seen from their response to the February 17th Uprising that many of these men and women are true patriots who rather than turning their backs served their country at a time of need and wish to continue serving their country in the future 
During the Uprising Libyans around the world supported the revolution lobbying foreign governments and informing media organisations and policy makers. Many returned to Libya and fought on the front lines, doctors returned to treat the injured, lawyers campaigned for justice, and individuals donated time and money supporting many initiatives including new Libyan charities and aid organisations which delivered humanitarian aid and essential supplies
Thousands of Libya's dual nationals gave their time, their skills, their money, and in many cases their lives to the revolution
Across the world there are tens of thousands of Libyans: doctors, lawyers, engineers, economists, academics, teachers, entrepreneurs and other highly qualified professionals who have a lot to offer Libya, and have for a long time wished to return home. They should be encouraged to do so
We respectfully ask the National Transitional Council to allow Libyans with multiple nationalities to stand for election to the General National Congress and future governmental institutions
