It is clear that the regime of Col. Gadhafi has lost its legitimacy, both within Libya and internationally. The majority of the Libyan people have risen-up against his rule, and a large number of ambassadors and representatives of Libya have distantiated themselves from this repressive regime.
The events of the past days, have shown the whole world the true brutal nature of the regime. It has become clear that this regime only remains in power by shooting demonstrators with live ammunition, arresting protesters by raiding their homes, and exercising excessive force against anyone trying to defend himself from the repression of the regime.
All this has been witnessed and verified by independent international journalists in the country. It has also become clear that Col. Gadhafi will not stop even if his actions result in the killing of a significant proportion of the Libyan people.
Therefore, we urge you to establish a non-fly zone over Libya as soon as possible.
A no-fly zone will prohibit the use of air force against protesters and prohibit moving of mercenaries from outside the country. Moreover, it is a clear message to the regime of Col. Gadhafi that his rule is over, and a message to the people of Libya not to despair and to keep going on in their struggle for freedom.
The Interim Transitional National Council of Libya has explicitly asked for it, providing the needed legitimacy for such no-fly zone. Now the Libyan people and all humanity are asking for it as well.

The situation on the ground grows more desperate by the hour and the silence from those with the power to act is deafening. I am exhausted by the constant reports of violence but I will not stop pushing for this protection. We remain the only ones holding this issue in the light.

Gadhafi is a monster, plain and simple. Do something before there is nobody left to save.
its about time the UN stepped up. stop the planes and stop the killing.

The slaughter has to stop now. How much longer are we going to sit back and watch innocent people get bombed in their own streets?
