In addition to all of the comments I've read in opposition to the closure (which I most absolutely agree with) I have to say this is the by far the stupidest idea ever!

KEEP THE PARKWAY, if they need a path , put one down the middle of the grass from one end to the other, similar to the one along the beaver island parkway. To drive the length of the west river road @ 30 mph is agony. Everyone will be speeding. Not fair to the home owners to endure more traffic.

Our town officials need to work in the best interest of the people of grand island. Not for there own pride or accomplish. The process in which this came about is surely cloak and dagger, appalling! Long time resistance have see what our so called leaders have tried to do. Some good but most of them have been at best pitiful. Elected officials are responsible to listen to the voice of us all. STOP !! Remember we elected you we can also un elect you.
