We are in support of GI town boards vote of no closure of the WestRiver Parkway

I vote NO! I think the bike path is a very dumb idea, it won't get used that much. Too many unanswered questions. Who's going to maintain it, the State I don't think so!

I think that is the dumbest idea ever.......you use a car on the parkway 12 months....a bike path maybe 3 or 4? I grew up on the island and know that you can add a bike lane for the summer or a sidewalk/path rather than close the parkway

Why can't they just add a bike path next to it like they did along the Robert Moses??

I was born on grand island and still visit often. It would be travesty to remove the parkway for a bike path!! It also would be a complete waste of money and greater invasion for people who live on west river. I am 100% against the bike path.

The parkway won't get as much bicycle traffic as it gets vehicle traffic.

I believe the money would be better spent fixing the east river road than dump money into a useless bike path on the west river.

Closing this would be a waste of taxpayers money. There is plenty of room to widen the road and put in a bike path if the bikers really want a path that badly

The West River Service Road was not designed to handle the increased traffic. The road was given to the Town from NYS Parks and the condition of the road was not the best. The increased traffic if the parkway is closed will shorten the already shortened life span of the road and require very expensive repairs and or replacement much sooner than planned. Where does this money come from?

I travel the parkway by car several times per week. As a family we ride our bikes on the service road several times every summer. Why do we need to fix something that is not broken?? I will add my voice to those who wish to try to recall our "part time" supervisor.

If this island is not to your liking, Mr. McMurray , then get out! People have moved here for a reason and it is not so that the likes of you can turn it into a commercial homage to yourself!! The traffic, be it bike, vehicle or on foot, flows wonderfully and has for the 27 years I and my family have lived here. If the people of Grand Island wanted more public access they wouldn't be here. How dare you presume to know what's best for an entire town! You aren't putting in enough time in this position to know what's best...you dance around questions because you have your ego to feed and can't handle being open to what the citizens want. Two words I wish for you: "You're Fired"!

there;s certainly better ways to spend money. the parkway is needed for summer traffic. west river does not need unnecessary traffic. leave those residents alone and let them enjoy the peace they have

I drive the service road and the parkway a few times a week. I do not see a problem with the way it is now.

Keep the parkway open. Diverting traffic to the service road would be unsafe. Kathleen Garlapow

Shame on the Grand Island Town Supervisor for requesting such a stupid state expenditure. I'M sure the residents of New York State have more pressing needs.
