There shouldnt be a need for a comment, its common sense. The police should be on their toes more on the speeding in residential areas. I have not seen one person pulled over in my area for speeding in about 6 years or more. The limit is 50, most people do up to 80 or higher. I just dont understand why its so hard to listen to the rules of the road. Im actually ahamed of what the majority of the drivers of newfoundland have become. Wreckless, careless and senseless. How people get away with it all is beyond me.

The speeds people drive on our roads is ridiculous. And there's a total disregard for stop signs.

Not only do I agree with this petition I ask where are the police? It also needs to be enforced!!!!! People drive like maniacs here in NL with little or no repercussions!

We have the same problem on our residential street in CBS. My husband and his sister grew up in the house we live in now. The same place their mother let them out in the front yard to play and walk to their friend's house. The speed some vehicles go (the same people who LIVE on the street and KNOW children live there as well) along with passer bys is appalling. You need to push for the speed bumps, the signs, the whole meal deal. I live on a blind hill, people still manage to excelerate to 55-70 passing my house on the crest going up the hill. Love to your little boy for a speedy recovery.

something needs to be done here. We have the same problem on Emerson/Downing street. A traffic box was put on a pole for less than a week as far as we can tell and NOTHING has been done since. Temporary speed bumps that can be removed are desperately needed and drivers ticketed.

No mother should be afraid to let their child out to play in their neighborhood. I played in the street as a kid not even 10 years ago. Its terrifying and something has to be done.

Safety is paramount for a neighborhood with small kids and all kids should be aloud to play without the worries of something like this as parents
