Passing operating school busses should have stiffer penalties for the guilty. Reduce speed limits to 30 km/hr. in all provincial cities, towns etc where school busses operate during school days. Any driver illegally passing schools buses and caught no matter how young or how old should be fined $2500.00 for their first offence and lose their vehicle and license for two weeks. They then should lose their license and their vehicle for 6 months for a second offence, lose their license and vehicle for 1 year for third offence and lose their license and vehicle for their lifetime for a fourth offence. Time to get really tough on offenders before someone is seriously injured or killed. Our justice system needs its glasses changed and our government elected politicians need to remember more often that their children and children of their families, friends and neighbors ride school busses also as well as remember where their votes come from. Ask the public’s co-operation in submitting video copies of drivers illegally passing school busses, the video showing license plate numbers and drivers’ faces. Wow! Someone has to do something radical.

Our children deserve better than this. I do not know how I would deal with it if it were my son

God bless the little child that was knocked down by a car yesterday. Such a pity that it has to take the harm of an innocent child before something gets done.

My car will never move faster then 40km/h in your neighbourhood! I support your idea of speed bumps!

This street is way to busy now you look to start backing out of your driveway nothing there hit reverse and have to jam on the breaks they come so fast. Ridiculous!

This should have already been done. What an unfortunate accident.

This petition shouldn't have to be done! A child got hit by a car, what's a couple of signs and a lowered speed limit compared to a life...

Thoughts & prayers. No parent should have to worry about walking on their street. I fear this on my own street daily in Paradise.

Shameful that the residents even need to gather names up for a petition. One call to city hall should have the traffic group onsite and make an assessment. They were quick to issue warnings for hockey nets in the name of safety but don't act when calls and requests were made to put up speed bumps etc in the area. Now a small child is injured as a result. Absolutely shameful!
