Its terrible something like this has to happen to get things done for the safety of our children !!

There should not have to be a petition to reduce speeds in a problem area. Not to mention the fact that a child has already been injured. The city should be ashamed at their response.

All residential areas should be less than 50km as children can/will be playing at all/most times. It’s a shame that something like this has to happen before further action will be made.

Reduce speed limits across all residential streets in the Southlands community.

Speeding and distracted drivers are a huge problem in this province. It's time to rein this in. These accidents are preventable. Drivers need to be aware of their surroundings.

My heart goes out to your family and little boy. I have an 8 yr old girl and I cannot fathom what you must be going through. Best of luck in your petition and I hope you get the speed limit reduced for a safer , more cautious area. All the best.

Please make southlands safer for the growing population of children. This is their home and should be one of the safest places for them.

Something definitely has to be done to try and protect pedestrians, especially children.

Many prayers for This precious little boy and his family. I'm a mom of two and cannot imagine what I would do if this were my child. Absolutely heartbreaking. Thinking of you all during this extremely difficult time, and praying he makes a full recovery.❤️

I live on a quiet street in CBS, but people RACE down it... it's CRAZY... I've said to my husband many times we need to get a speed bump there. Good Luck with it! Hope your little man feels better soon! Take Care!

Absolutely ridiculous that on a residential road a child got run down by a speeding car! Lower the god damn speed limits and put up some speed bumps
