There isn't consistency with speeds anywhere in the metro region. Speeds range from 30-60 on residential streets and aside for the safety of ALL pedestrians, if there was uniformity (like 30 km in all school zones) this would also help in keeping speeds down.

We also need more police presence in the cities & highways to enforce the limits & laws.

There's way to many people living in Newfoundland now to be going those speeds threw small streets and residential should be a crawl you never know when someone will run across or come from between a vehicle parked on the side of the road or a someone trip and fall . Regardless everyone is oblivious to the world around them lower speeds everywhere !!!

I live on Treetop Drive and had to witness the aftermath of a young boy being struck by a vehicle directly in front of my home yesterday. My heart is broken for the child and his family. Multiple requests have been made to reduce the speed limit, add speed signs, etc in our area. Perhaps this tragic incident will show Council that these actions, and more, are truly necessary to keep our children safe.

It’s sad when someone has to get hurt in order for us to try and get government to help.
