Speeding and distracted driving increase the likelihood of accidents. Responsibility lies with the 'adults' to ensure controls are in place!

The issue is alarming in my area of town as well. Thorbourn rd is used like a highway. I get passed on a regular basis in residential areas. I have a small child at home and I can't imagine going through this!!

I live in CBS and have the same issue on my street. We contacted our Town representative who did have a speed radar sign put up temporarily. It helped while it was there but was removed after a few weeks. Now we’re back to the same problem again of speeders on a street filled with very young children. We need permanent, not temporary solutions. It’s to late when an innocent child is injured or killed. Speed bumps is all it would take. These lunatics that speed through our neighbourhoods do not want to risk damaging their precious cars but yet they seem to have no issue with potentially injuring or killing a child. I will be going through the process yet again of contacting my Town counsillor to fight for a “permanent” solution. I’m so sorry your child was injured and praying for his healing and fast recovery.

This is just terrible. I lived on Tree Top Drive with my young son years ago. Now I live in Alberta in another busy subdivision where the speed limit is 30, as it should be!!! Something needs to be done there.

The speed bumps appear helpful on carrick drive. Hopefully something like that can be applied there.

No reason why 50 km should be a speed limit for a residential area. It should be 30, no question. The city should be ashamed to even ask for a petition. Common sense should prevail in this matter.

When you have to sign a petition to get a Speed Limit changed for Children Safety I think its Kinda Sad.Politicans only want this Petition to hold up at a meeting and make themselves look good, and get a pat on the back.Isnt this what your tax payers dollars pay Maintenance men for to go around and check this stuff out.Nuts if you ask me.Not to mention irresponsible.
