Having a real estate license and my husband having been a real estate appraiser, I can say this will hurt our property values. There is plenty of vacant land without homes and children in the area. This is political, so just follow the money to see who made out big time in the sale of this land.

I adamantly oppose this transfer station in our neighborhood. It will bring down the value of our homes, and the thought of sitting on my porch watching the sunsets smelling the stench is an unwelcome thought!

A landfill should never be so close to residences, due to a great variety of sanitary reasons, not to mention an undesirable smell that could linger far and wide. Furthermore it would have a negative effect on local property values. Completely unfair to local residents.
