We the undersigned demand that Charleston County Council Chairman Herb Sass present a Resolution which honors the Father of Our Country, George Washington, for an up or down vote at an April 2023 council meeting.
At the March 2nd meeting Councilman Larry Kobrovsky presented a well-written Resolution honoring Washington. Kobrovsky made a motion to adopt the Resolution, however, not a single member of council seconded his motion.
Our country, its institutions, and its history are under attack from within by Wokeism and Cancel Culture. We cannot think of a clearer time to take a stand than in defense of our first President. We expect our elected officials to have the courage and patriotism to fight back whenever such anti-American sentiment rears its ugly head. Charleston County Councilmembers (not including Kobrovsky) failed this basic test at the March meeting but can correct their error with a glowing tribute to Washington in the form of a Resolution at an upcoming council meeting THIS APRIL.
While we may not be able to affect what is happening across the country, it is our duty as Americans and South Carolinians to take a stand here in the place we call home, the Palmetto State. WE STAND WITH WASHINGTON.

Who doesn’t stand with George Washington? Let’s have these people speak on why they don’t, instead hiding in silence. Let the light shine on them.
I support Mr. Kobrovsky's resolution. Those of you who refused to adopt this resolution are no better than that spineless Tecklenberg. Adopting this resolution is a sign of Love for our country. If you don't stand up for what is right, you will fall for anything. Remember elections are coming.
Sirs, Please remove the race/slave issue from this Proclamation to honor the founder of this country. General George Washington did lead the start of this country to be the most free nation in this modern world! End the destructive political divide and pass this resolution to honor the father of this country, NOW!
I can't believe that this would actually take a petition to jump start this resolution, but count me among the many who feel that it should not be controversial to honor our first President.
By any objective standard George Washington is the father of our country. He could have opted to become a king but rather was a modem day Cincinnatus who gave up his sword to lead the Founding Fathers in the establishment of a representative republic.
If we ignore our history, we are doomed to repeat it!

Candidates that asked for our support, i. e. BRANTLY Moody stated that he voted with the Democrats because they were in the majority he has no excuse now. If local politics are going to mirror the national abuse, why not tell the truth? Republicans have the majority on Country Council and still vote against the will of the people. Time to go.
