It’s about time that there were some changes. Especially when you were the school that taught me to stand up to social injustice.

As a white alum, I reflect on all the times I inadvertently said or did something racist and never had a faculty member check me or hold me accountable for my behavior. Especially at a college located in the south that gets many students from the region, it is essential that white faculty support white students in openly and directly disrupting the legacies of the region.

As an alumni of this school and a lover of this community meeting I believe meeting these demands is not just important, it’s essential. Wilson failed to meet the demands brought by black students 3 years ago. Don’t make the same mistakes.

It’s about time that there were some changes. Especially when you were the school that taught me to stand up to social injustice.
