Many of us found this temperature delightful. The Board recently decided to
lower the temperature to a much cooler 85 degrees. Many of us are finding this
temperature uncomfortably chilly. We’re proposing a halfway compromise with the
Board; to maintain the pool at 87 degrees. Please sign a petition if you agree.

Seeing so many of you express how frustrating these cold morning laps have been makes me feel much less alone in this fight. This momentum proves the board cannot ignore how many swimmers are actually struggling with the new temperature settings.

Yes, we have the same issue. My kids are 8, 5 and 3. They were enjoying the pool all Summer until the change. We would swim every weekend morning and afternoon. Now they won't swim or when they try they come out with lips chattering. Plus, I don't want to swim with them now and I LOVE swimming with them.
Sadly we cannot take advantage of the pool at the current temp (85) as my 2 year old daughter refuses to swim for more than 3 minutes.
I am in full support for a warmer pool.
I am withholding my name because I believe Alex has made this a very divisive issue - rather than one people can disagree about in a respectful way. HIs emails are defensive and display a lack of objectivity. I'm frankly amazed there's even a debate. We have a small heated recreational pool. Why would we not heat it. This is an issue about preference vs tolerance. You have to make the pool temperature warm enough for the most people to be able to tolerate and enjoy it. While there may be those that "prefer" a cooler pool, it's unfair to support a bias toward "preference" when making it cool means a large amount of people cant and wont swim. I know Dara prefers a cooler pool. I respect she has a right to her view. But that's her preference. She can tolerate a warmer temperature. Warmer temperatures do not make it so she cannot tolerate a pool like cooler temperatures do for others. Again, I'm amazed basic human logic is not at work here. Warn up the pool.
