The Wappingers Safety for Students is a petition created by Wappingers students for the safety of Wappingers students. We do not feel safe and that is unjust. This petition supports the safety plan funded by the Smart Schools Bonds Act which intends to reserves $1.3 million dollars for the installment of security vestibules in the thirteen Wappingers Central schools that do not have them. We also call for the consideration and placement of metal detectors in the entrances of John Jay Senior High School and other Schools.

We can argue about gun control vs. mental illness for years. Meanwhile, our children live in fear. Let's get something done.

My kid comes home and tells me kids are walking in without showing ID at the front door. Its 2018 lets get these vestibules installed already. No reason to wait until something bad happens.
