In the wake of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, FL, it is imperative that students voice their opinions on the issues of unsafe schools in the United States. As such, student organizers are planning a school walkout and peaceful protest on March 14th, 2018 at Williamsville South. While we feel safe at our own school, we know that this is a much larger issue, one that affects many families, students, and friends nationwide. We know something needs to be done, and we are encouraging adults to take action on this issue before more tragedies occur. Before we can continue planning, we need to gauge support for our plans. Alumni Supporter. As high school students we protested the Vietnam War and were considered wrong. ( We all know that outcome). It is now the time for the current students to voice and let their rights be heard.
No child should worry about safety and mass shootings while getting an education. 100% support this!!!
Class of '65. The torch of freedom, democracy, and liberty, the right to peaceful protest is passed to you.
I passed by the school where the Florida shooting was and it was the most emotional thing I’ve ever seen. WE NEED CHANGE!
