During the Annual Business Meeting on May 17th, the Realignment Committee will propose a radical realignment which will reassign 108 of our clubs to new Divisions and will entirely eliminate two Divisions.
This will affect all D55 Toastmasters because it will eliminate 13 opportunities for Toastmasters to serve in District Leadership positions (potentially limiting when Toastmasters can earn their DTM award), it will spread the workload of the District onto fewer District Leaders (meaning those leaders will have less time to serve each of their clubs and will have farther to travel) and it will increase the geographical area for each Area and Division (which will potentially affect the distances everyday Toastmasters have to travel for Area and Division Council Meetings, Toastmaster Leadership Institutes, and Area and Division Contests).
We everyday Toastmasters must band together to reclaim our District and to prevent this realignment from being passed! Together we can help our members, clubs and our District Leaders to GROW but growth will only occur if we stand together and vote NO! to the proposed realignment.

I have been hearing from members across the district who are genuinely worried about their clubs disappearing into this new structure. The silence from the committee regarding these valid concerns is frustrating but we are not going away quietly.

The momentum behind this vote is overwhelming and it proves that our members truly care about the future of our clubs. Seeing so many of you rally against this proposal gives me real confidence that we can protect the leadership opportunities we all rely on.

Seriously? Why mess with the structure that works? My club is totally against these changes. Keep it how it is.
This realignment is nuts. No way we should be losing divisions like that. It will make travel way to far for everyone. Vote no on the 17th.
