Turbocharger failed at 62K miles was replaced. Second turbocharger at 77K miles. VW said tough out of warranty. How can they replace a turbocharger and it fail less than 15K miles. Terrible customer service and quality by VW

2012 Tiguan, 56k miles. PO229 error code. Waste gate has excessive "play" in it. Warranty expired last year. Dealer quoted $3500 to replace it! This is a well known issue!!!!

We have a 2014 VW Tiguan with 71k miles. The engine light came on and the diagnose is the inability to get rid of waste. My local service garage can fix for $3,200, schedule within a week, and have completed in a day. The VW dealer quoted $3,500, can schedule in 3 weeks, and will have for a week since they can't keep a technician on the job 100% of the time. The VW dealership looked up the VIN to determine if any recalls or under warranty. Unfortunately, the answer is no, so this will be an out of pocket expense.
