po299 code.. dealer said its was the turbo. 3500 to fix sadly.. its a 2012 tiguan with 75000k miles. did oil changes every 5 to 6k miles instead of suggest 10k miles. horrible issue....

Had to replace the turbo at 79,000 miles. Same error code: P0299.

My 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan had 87,000 miles and I had to pay $3,200 at local Volkswagen dealer to get the turbo replaced.

My turbo system on my 2013 Tiguan is throwing a P0299 code and the turbo assembly needs to be replaced. Such a catastrophic failure should not occur in a car with this few miles on it. Very disappointing.
Fortunately MY turbocharger “went bad” after 48k miles so it was under warranty. My brothers (the reason I bought a Tiguan in the first place) went at 70k. That’s 100% fail rate for tiguans in our family. Not what I will be buying next unless there are VERY good and clear responses and solutions.

2017 vw Tiguan sport with 36200 miles. Being replaced now. Never an issue with my VW 2009 Tiguan SE.. that I had put over 180000 miles ..
