I agree a vehicle that has been we) maintained with only 70k miles shouldnt be having a large problem like this.

Just heard this stunning news from the dealership mechanic - $3300 for a new turbo. Said I didn't drive it aggressively enough and this caused the problem. What the heck!! This is outrageous. Should be a recall and Volkswagen should reimburse us!!

Bought a used 2013 in 2016 with extended warranty. Had the turbo replaced within the first couple of years. Now they’re telling me I need it replaced again. NOT happy.

Our 2013 Tiguan’s turbo needs to be replaced. We have always taken it in for regular maintenance at the VW dealership. Dealership estimated $2700 to replace.

Yep my 2016 Tiguan has the dreaded check engine light! I have been quoted for 3000$. Drives fine, so it’s frustrating to think I have to pay this much to turn off a light! Should be a recall for sure!

Just got news today that this has happened on mine. I've done all regular and recommended maintenance at the dealership. 98,000 Kms, and it's a 2012 Highline. $2,900 is what they quoted me.

My check engine light came on for this. JUST spent $4500 to replace the entire engine at 65k miles. Unreal.
