I just received an email from my mother stating that because she is caring for my children during my deployment that I will have to pay tuition for the upcoming school year. My mother says that during yo...ur conversation, she was told repeatedly that military obligation is not an excuse....My residence and home of record is ### ___ ave, Bremen, GA 30110, which is well within the city limits of Bremen. My children live at this residence with me; However, in support of my military obligation, my parents (Larry & Geraldine Lipscomb) agreed to care for my children. It was for their convenience that my children are staying in their home. I cannot believe that Bremen City Schools has such a disregard for members of the U.S. military. I am truly disappointed in the decision of the school to require me to pay tuition because I am deployed in support of our country and its freedoms. My mother has agreed to be put at further inconvenience and have my children moved back home to their own beds as per your stipulation. I believe that should satisfy your requirements. I truly want to thank you for your support during this time and appreciate the added stress your decision has created during an already difficult time. PLEASE join us as a community outraged at this decision as we petition Bremen Board of Education to reverse their decision and thus allow Valerie Lipscomb Waddell's children to attend without paying tuition as their residence of record is inside the city limits.
