We the undersigned support public school education in Virginia. We are opposed to the deep cuts proposed by the Governor for K-12 Education as of February 2010. We encourage our legislators and the Governor to reconsider these drastic cuts and/or call for a special session to consider alternate revenue sources for public schools in Virginia. We are opposed to the blanket statement "no taxes" made by the Governor because it is only passing the problem to the localities who will be forced to raise taxes on property owners only. We are voters and will remember those who support education and those who don't - regardless of political party affiliation.

I am currently organizing the collected signatures into a formal document to deliver to the Governor's office. Several local press outlets have requested meetings to discuss the potential impact of these funding cuts on our school districts. You can expect a summary of those interactions once the initial meetings conclude.

Total joke. Stop playing games with our future and find the budget elsewhere. Politicians need to wake up.

We are already paying enough in taxes this is just shifting the burden to schools and teachers who are already struggling.

If they cut more they are just gonna kill the quality of teaching for the next generation. Its a disgrace really.

My kids deserve better than this. Education should be the last thing they touch when looking for money.
