We are gathering signatures to change the current Vintners Wood regulations that limit basketball goals to being out of view of the roadways and lot lines. We would like to change the language to “Basketball Hoops – Portable basketball hoops are permitted. Garage or wall mounted types of basketball hoops are not permitted. Basketball hoops must be properly maintained at all times with no visible rust, torn nets, missing or broken backs. No basketball hoop may be placed in the actual street, blocking mailbox access, blocking driveways or interfering with traffic on the sidewalk. If a property owner wishes to install a permanent hoop, it must be cleared with the HOA board first.”

If you would like to sign in support it would be greatly appreciated.

Many of you have reached out to share stories about your families playing in the driveway and the sense of community that simple activity brings to our neighborhood. These conversations confirm that our goal is about much more than equipment because it is really about making Vintners Wood a more welcoming place for our children to grow up. I am currently organizing these signatures into a formal proposal for the next board meeting to ensure our request is presented clearly and professionally.

Seeing the momentum grow behind this effort confirms that many of us value the same neighborhood atmosphere. The shared desire to make our streets more friendly for play is becoming clear as more neighbors contribute their thoughts. This reflection of our collective hope serves as a meaningful reminder of what we can accomplish by working together.

My kids love playing out front. Its better than them sitting inside behind a screen all day. Let them play!!!

This is a kid friendly neighborhood not a retirement community. Basketball goals in the driveway encourage kids to get out of the house and be social with other kids.

Basketball goals are a necessity in a neighborhood full of families... It's not an eye sure to see kids playing, having fun and getting exercise!

The portable basketball hoops should be allowed. We don't have one but appreciate those neighbors that do, and the entire community often comes together to play ball at one these neighborhood hoops.
